Being British is more than just our accent it’s in the food we eat. What else is more English than a saucy kebab after a night out? Imagine a healthy kebab made with spiced soya pieces with the same taste as a meaty one. Less calories, more healthy living.
Lots of students are vegetarians and vegans but that doesn’t mean that your food life becomes boring and tasteless or just purely vegetables. Vegans can now be a part of a classic British tradition and enjoy a Kebab.
What The Pitta is a new vegan restaurant that serves up fabulous vegan kebabs and wraps. From Germany to Camden, this spices up the vegan cuisine. The main goal is for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters to eat alike.
As for the food, you can munch into a Vegan doner with chips and a drink. Their signature doner pieces are spiced with exotic seasoning from Turkey. Alongside a freshly made bread wrap, mixed salad and humous. If you fancy doner pieces and chips, then you can fulfil your cravings.
Not only do they have vegan soya pieces, you can get a homemade falafel wrap with authentic spices, tahini dressing and chill sauce. A mezze box is available with either falafel balls or doner pieces, with couscous and a mixed salad.
Sides include onion rings, humous and falafel pot and baklava, which is a sweet vegan pastry with a crushed almond centre. With gluten free options available you can explore the healthier side of traditional Turkish food.
Positioned in the heart of Camden market you can visit the restaurant if you want to sit down and indulge into your kebab. Or you can visit the small green shack on the edge of the market in case you’re on the go.
Prices are all average around £7 to £11. But for such a mouth-watering kebab you can’t go wrong for a healthy dish. Students get 10% off their order, and we all love a bargin. If you want to try something new, head over to Shoreditch and visit What The Pitta.
